The FSRU BW Singapore that will act as Egypt’s second import terminal has been delivered to the country.

Khaled Abdel Badie, Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company’s chairman told Reuters that the facility is planned to start operation in the third week of October.

The FSRU, provided by the Singapore-based BW arrived in Egypt without carrying a load.

BW Singapore, that will be moored in Ain Sokhna Port, has a storage capacity in excess of 170,000 cbm and a peak regasification capacity of 750 mmscfd.

It will serve to provide much-needed gas to Egypt’s ailing energy grid for a period of five years on a contract worth $300 million.
