Arctic Prowler to be Christened at Alaska Ship and Drydock

The Alaska Longline Company’s newest fishing vessel, the F/VArctic Prowler, is set to be christened Oct. 5 at Alaska Ship and Drydock in Ketchikan, Alaska.

The Prowler, a 136’ x 41’ x 26’ freezer longliner, was designed by Jensen Maritime Consultants of Seattle, WA. The F/V Arctic Prowler is the first vessel to be built in ASD’s brand new, 70,000 square foot assembly hall with adjacent 5-story production center designed to build ships up to 500 feet in length.

Once the vessel is complete she will fish for Pacific cod, blackcod and turbot in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska.
