Glacier Energy is hiring (UK)

As the oilfield services companies across the world have been forced to lay off workers due to oil majors cutting capital investments amid falling oil prices, any news on new job openings in the sector is welcome.

Glacier Energy Services has said it needs workforce for its heat exchanger business based across its workshop and warehouse facilities at Dalgety Bay and offshore operations headquarters in Aberdeen.

The oilfield service provider’s heat exchanger business Ross Offshore, which moved into 15,000 sq ft premises at St David’s Business Park in the Fife town in June 2014, is hiring for HSEQ manager, workshop/offshore technician, workshop supervisor, workshop mechanical fitter and offshore mechanical fitter, administration and reception positions.

A further sales management position is also being created at Glacier’s offshore division  headquarters at Peterseat, Altens in Aberdeen.

Jim McAleese, managing director of Glacier’s heat transfer division said: “Inspection, repair and maintenance activities on existing assets remain active – these new posts will help us meet consistent demand from operators and asset owners.

“We hope these new jobs will be a welcome boost to the region and a chance for those interested in working in the oil and gas sector to join a company where there is a strong supply of future work and plenty of opportunities for progressing within the business.”

Glacier Energy Services, formed in 2011, has a staff of 240, with group turnover for the financial year 2014 expected to exceed £30million. Its businesses operate from industrial premises in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Dalgety Bay and Methil in Fife, Newcastle and Singapore.

The group supports operators and service companies on projects from the commissioning phase to full in-operations lifecycle of oil and gas platforms and vessels, windfarms and infrastructure in the energy and petrochemical industries.
