Green Fleet Systems Expands Bi-Coastal Operations, USA

Green Fleet Systems, a logistics service provider focused on building a business anchored around “clean” technology, and LogFire, the leading cloud-based SaaS supply chain solutions company, announce expanded business operations and scope of services – creating new jobs and expanding energy efficiency in logistics.

Green Fleet Systems, focused on being a reliable and efficient logistics service provider that can also provide the cleanest technologies available in moving cargo through the supply chain, has both expanded its geographic presence as well as its overall scope of services in conjunction with the implementation of new cloud-based supply chain solutions.

Green Fleet Systems’ geographic expansion includes new operational facilities and presence in both Long Beach, California and Savannah, Georgia. With the implementation of LogFire’s cloud-based extended warehouse management supply chain solutions, Green Fleet is also able to offer customers services beyond its traditional drayage and carrier services, including transloading, more comprehensive warehousing, and other logistics services.

“After an extensive review of warehouse management systems (WMS), Green Fleet Systems chose to partner with cloud-based LogFire for supply chain management,” stated Dennis Cravens, Executive Director of Green Fleet Systems. “We are pleased to now be able to offer our customers complete systems capabilities for not only drayage management, with our Trinium System, but also for those under-roof activities such as inventory control, order management, EDI communication, complete visibility and reporting through the LogFire WMS solutions.”

“It’s been a busy year for us on both coasts, hiring staff, opening new facilities in both Savannah and Long Beach, setting up drayage and container yard operations, and implementing the new cloud-based extended warehouse management systems,” said Cravens. “The nice thing was the LogFire WMS implementation only took less than 6 weeks from project kickoff to go-live. We are now well positioned to further grow our business by offering flexible solutions to our clients, providing outstanding levels of service, and expanded operations.”

With more than 20 years of experience in the cryogenic trucking business, transporting hazardous cargos such as liquefied natural and propane gases, Green Fleet Systems’ father/son team of Gary and Kyle Mooney have built, since 2007, an expanding logistics business with a focus around the new Clean Action Initiative. They began with a grant to buy 14 Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) fueled tractor-trailers, and shortly thereafter acquired Pac-Rim Container Service, Inc., a leader in the harbor drayage business for over 20 years. After taking over full operations of Pac-Rim’s assets, they have continued to service all former customers of Pac-Rim while adding additional customers. Continuing to expand their Clean Action Initiative, additional LNG tractors have been added and the rest of their purchased fleet have been refitted with newer diesel engines that are more efficient, burn cleaner and meet the Clean Action Initiative’s requirements.

Green Fleet Systems’ geographic expansion to Savannah was a logical one. Seventy-five percent of U.S. consumers, roughly 215 million people, are east of a line drawn from Dallas to Chicago. The Port of Savannah is strategically located to reach 44% of the U.S. population. Savannah is also ranked 4th in the top 10 U.S. Ports, with a 10-year average growth of 11.5%. Green Fleet’s new Long Beach facilities are strategically located within 8 miles of the Port of Long Beach, with direct rail services in addition to its yard and warehouse facility operations.
