Hanjin Heavy Wins Capesize Duo

Hanjin Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. announced today in its regulatory filing to the Korea Stock Exchange that the company has won an order worth $109.5 million for the construction of two Capesize bulk carriers.

The shipbuilder will deliver the bulkers to a Marshall Islands-based company in late 2015.

In 1972, Hanjin ushered in the large carrier era by launching the first large bulkers in Korea. Since that time, the company has been building bulk carriers that meet the needs of global owners to the very utmost thanks to its long-term experience and reliability.

By maximizing the synergy of the Subic and Yeongdo Shipyards, Hanjin has been focusing on building very large bulkers as well as numerous orders for 180,000 ton cape size carriers.
