Hanjin Heavy Wins Capesize Order

Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Ltd. (HHIC), a Korea-based company engaged in shipbuilding, construction, engineering and energy, has scored another lucrative contract bringing the fiscal year-to- date total to over $2.4 billion.

This time the order comes from a Liberia-based shipowner and relates to the construction of a Capesize bulk carrier.

The contract, announced today in a regulatory filing, is estimated to be worth around $55.6 million.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled to take place in early 2016.
