HTS: New Bulker Completes Sea Trials, China

Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry Co., Ltd (HTS) successfully completed sea trials, on March 15th, of another 57,000 DWT Bulk Carrier, bearing the yard No. HT098. The vessel, built for Eagle and class approved by LR, was launched from the shipyard’s slipway No.3, on October 29 2012.

After a week of inspections and trials the vessel met all requirements of ship owners and the class.

By reducing the power of engine, optimizing the propeller and installing Mewis duct, PBCF devices, HTS managed to improve the performance of the vessel and reduce fuel consumption & pollution emissions. The new type 57,000 DWT bulk carrier may save 5.4 ton fuel per day which is commended by the customers.
