With more than 12 million vacationers ambling up the gangways last year and nearly 13 million expected to sail this year, cruise lines’ coffers are awash with profits – with lots of it slated for shipbuilding. A dozen new liners will take to the seas this year, according to Cruise Lines International Association, an affiliation of 21 lines representing more than 97 percent of North America’s cruise capacity.
