Port of Beira Dredging Begins at End of July

The first phase of dredging work on the access channel for the port of Beira is due to begin at the end of the month, the chief executive of Mozambican port and rail management company, Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (Cfm) said in Inhassoro, Inhambane province.

As part of the work of the Coordinating Council of the Ministry for Transport and Communication, Adelino Mesquita said that the work, which is considered to be an emergency and costing 43 million euros, would take 18 months and be carried out by Van Oord Dregding, the Dutch company that was awarded the international tender for the work.
