Chinese vessel rescues 97 Vietnamese fishermen

A Chinese ship has rescued 97 Vietnamese fishermen stranded on a remote island by Typhoon Chanchu. Xinhua news agency says the fishermen were found alive on the Chinese island of Dong Sa, three days after the powerful storm swept through the South China Sea.
Another 18 bodies were found dead by the rescue vessel. Vietnamese officials had reported that the storm killed 28 Vietnamese fishermen and left nearly 300 missing.
