Chinese CNPC to build four LNG terminals

China National Petroleum Corp., CNPC, is planning to build four liquefied natural gas terminals as China boosts the use of the cleaner-burning fuel, Chief Financial Officer Wang Guoliang said at a renewable energy conference in Tianjin. The company also plans to tap China’s methane resources, he said. Also CNPC BSS Petropipe Co, a joint venture of China’s Baoji Petroleum Steel Pipe Company and Malaysia’s UMW Petropipe Group, began operations in northern China’s port city of Qinhuangdao late last week. Baoji Petroleum Steel Pipe Company is a subsidiary of the oil giant CNPC, which is also parent of PetroChina.
