A.P. Moller – Maersk Group reduces CO2 emissions by 9%

Health, Safety, Security and Environment Report 2008 shows improvements in terms of performance and reporting.

A.P. Moller – Maersk Group is reducing its impact on the climate with a drop of 9% in CO2 emissions in 2008 compared to the previous year. This represents a fall of 5 million tonnes CO2 and has been achieved through lower fuel consumption on ships and reduced flaring from platforms. The positive trend is continuing in 2009 in line with the Group’s new environmental strategy, which was decided last year and now being implemented throughout the various business units.
