Few days to go before container ship can refloat

It will take about three days to complete off-loading the bunker fuel from a ship stuck on a sandbank near the East London harbour, the National Ports Authority (NPA) said.

Terry Taylor, the NPA spokesperson, said about eight containers are being removed from the ship per hour. “It is going extremely well with the discharge of the container and we hope everything will be done in about three days,” he said. “The salvage team will continue pumping throughout the day and overnight.”
