Sanlorenzo SD122 Exclusive cruising for ten people, in perfect autonomy

After the success achieved in 2007 with the launch of the first “Navetta” yacht from Sanlorenzo, the SD92, this year the shipyard presents its big sister and the flagship of the new line, the SD122, a craft in composite material with semi-displacement hull of almost 38 metres, and three decks.

In keeping with the best Sanlorenzo tradition, which has been building strictly tailor made motor yachts for 50 years to suit the requirements and style of each individual ship-owner, the SD122 also combines the best technology available with the most sophisticated hand workmanship. The result is a model that is imposing in terms of space and dimensions, but with lines that explicitly evoke the harmony and elegance of the SD line, developed in partnership with the designer Francesco Paszkowski.

The SD122 stands out for its layout, which is able to combine modern lines perfectly with evocative forms, recalling the great transatlantic cruise ships of the 1930s. In the superstructure, the large windows flow continuously from stern to bow. On the third bridge, the sky lounge windows end with the distinctive “whisker”, which represents a true sign of authenticity for this line of crafts.

There are many distinctive stylistic elements: from the large flying bridge which hosts the wooden chaise-longue and the hydromassage tub with waterfall, to the distinctive external powers on the lateral walkways, from the sliding curved hatches providing access to the outdoor corridor to the unmistakable funnel.

Internally, the large spaces offered by a semi-displacement craft such as the SD122, have enabled the Sanlorenzo technical office to position the captain’s cabin directly on the upper deck, near the control area, an almost obligatory choice for crafts able to cover long distances autonomously.

As regards the accommodation for the 10 guests on board, the internal layout features a ship-owner’s cabin on the main deck. It covers the whole width and is generously sized, with a private office and separate bathrooms for him and her. The lower deck houses two large VIP cabins and two cabins with double or twin beds.

In terms of performance, thanks to the numerous tests carried out for the development of the hulls, the SD122 reaches a maximum speed of a good 17 knots, with 2 Caterpillar C32 ACERT motors of 1,624 horsepower each. Sanlorenzo continues with its commitment to environmental protection thanks to consumed fuel consumption which, at a speed of 12 knots, enables the craft to cover 2,000 marine miles in autonomy.
