Hyperdynamics elects new Chairman

Hyperdynamics Corporation, a company that is exploring for oil and gas offshore the Republic of Guinea in West Africa, has announced the appointment of new Chairman.

The company said that Robert A. Solberg has retired as Chairman of the Board of Directors and the company elected Ian Norbury as a new one.

Ray Leonard, President and Chief Executive Officer, said about Solberg, who has served as a Chairman since August 2009: “My fellow Board members join me in expressing appreciation for Bob’s leadership on the Board and dedicated service to Hyperdynamics.”

Introducing Ian Norbury as new Chairman, Leonard said: “Ian Norbury has served with distinction on our Board since January 2013. He has broad experience with oil and gas exploration and production activities worldwide, including in West Africa. Ian’s principal occupation is Acting CEO of Hannon Westwood, a UK firm providing consultancy services to the oil and gas industry. We are pleased that he has also agreed to assume the role of Chairman of our Board.”
