India Steamship to Sell Four LR2 Tankers

Kolkata-based shipping company India Steamship has reached and agreement to sell all four of its LR2 tankers to Greek Enterprises Shipping and Trading, according to data provided by VesselsValue.

Under the deal, the company will sell the 2008-built Ratna Namrata, Ratna Shradha, Ratna Shruti and the 2010-built Ratna Shalini.

Each featuring 105,800 dwt, the tankers were constructed by the South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries.

Three of the ships were sold for a price of USD 22.5 million a piece, while the youngest from the batch Ratna Shalini fetched a price of USD 26.5 million.

VesselsValue data shows that the tankers secured a price which is over their market value of around USD 22.5 million and USD 24.8 million, respectively.

The tanker quartet will join Enterprises Shipping and Trading’s fleet of 22 bulkers and 17 tankers.
