Inpex Surveys Darwin Harbour Channel Floor (Australia)

As reported by ABC News, Inpex, an energy giant, in preparation for a dredging project in Darwin Harbour, will survey the harbour floor.

Starting this week the survey will commence. Divers, survey boats as well as barges will begin the project in the channel area.

Inpex needs the survey data to get a detailed map of the harbour floor before the dredging could begin.

The shipping channel will be dredged to allow large LNG tankers to travel through the harbour to Blaydin Point, where a multi-billion dollar plant is being built to process gas piped from the Ichthys field in the Timor Sea.
