Jose Zayas to Give Keynote Speech at GMREC VII

Jose Zayas is the Program Manager for the Wind and Water Power Program. In this role, he manages efforts to improve performance, lower costs, and accelerate deployment of wind and water power technologies, which can play a significant role in America’s clean energy future.

Working with U.S. Department of Energy national laboratories, academia, and industry, the program funds research and development and deployment activities aimed at reducing the overall cost of energy of these systems and addressing key market barriers.

The Global Marine Renewable Energy Conference brings together researchers, technology developers, policy makers, NGOs, and industry representatives to discuss best management practices, financing instruments, and domestic and international regulatory developments regarding marine renewable energy.

The event includes the Marine Energy Technology Symposium (METS), which provides a venue where technical experts from across disciplines can present and publish cutting-edge marine energy (e.g. wave and water current) research that helps accelerate the pace of technology development.

The event will be held in Seattle, Washington from 15 to 18 April 2014.
