Leading Chinese Shipyards to Attend CIMPS-Europort 2012

The CIMPS-Europort 2012 maritime exhibition to be held from 23 to 25 May in Nanjing, China, is the ideal location for international suppliers of maritime equipment to become acquainted with the shipbuilding industry of the Chinese province of Jiangsu.

Besides personal meetings at the actual exhibition, a matchmaking event is to be arranged for participants in the CIMPS-Europort to establish one-to-one contact with Chinese shipyards, shipowners and ship designers. The matchmaking will take place on day one of the exhibition from 13.30 to 17.00 hours at the Jinling Convention Centre in Nanjing.

Directly after the exhibition, on 26 and 27 May, the programme includes visits to various Chinese shipyards in Nantong. For exhibitors, this is an excellent way to further strengthen the relations formed during the exhibition and matchmaking.

Leading Chinese shipyards

CSSC, CSIC, Ch Rongsheng, Nantong COSCO, Dayang Shipyards, New Century Shipyards, Yangtze River Shipyards and Kouan Shipyards are examples of Chinese shipyards who will be attending the matchmaking. Matchmaking participants will be sent a list of all participating parties beforehand. They can then indicate which companies they would like to meet on a one-to-one basis.

Number 1 shipbuilding region

This province is the number 1 shipbuilding region of China. With more than 80 large shipyards, the shipbuilding in Jiangsu comprises 35% of the total shipbuilding output in China. No less than 39% of all new shipbuilding orders in China is realised in Jiangsu. The Jiangsu region is increasingly orientated towards advanced technology and ‘special purpose ships’. The local supply industry cannot meet the greatly increased demand, so that approximately 70% of all products is imported. This offers great opportunities for international maritime suppliers.

CIMPS-Europort 2012

The third edition of the China International Marine, Port & Shipbuilding Fair is the first co-production by Europort and UAEC. Simultaneously with the CIMPS-Europort, the Offshore Technology Equipment Exhibition (OTE) will also be staged.
