The speech, in Aberdeen at All-Energy 2014, will call for the British supply chain to work better together to support the next generation of offshore wind developments. He will also argue why a stable government policy for renewable energy infrastructure is needed to enable businesses to invest and help coordinate manufacturing nationally.

Mabey Bridge is the UK’s largest manufacturer of onshore wind turbine towers and a supplier of key components to the offshore wind sector. Mark Coia also sits on the board of the Wales Tidal Lagoon Industry Advisory Group, an organisation focused on realising the commercial benefits of the proposed Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon as well as tidal energy across the UK.

Mark Coia, Managing Director of Mabey Bridge Renewable Energy & Marine said: “The British renewables supply chain has progressed considerable in recent years but there’s still more work to do. If we look to other countries such as Denmark, Germany and South Korea we see a far more developed supply chain with great coordination between suppliers.

“Whilst the British supply chain is helping us meet our renewable energy ambitions and creating jobs and growth we cannot rest on our laurels. We need to keep the momentum up.”
