Macduff Ship Design Ensures New Order, Contract Extention

The first half of June 2013 has been pretty eventful for Macduff Ship Design Ltd. Mark Rowse from Rowse Fishing, Cornwall ordered a design from Macduff for a 16.4m Vivier crabber.

The order is based on an exact repeat of the successful “Emma Louise”, built by CToms in 2012 for Mark Rowse, the design features a fuel efficient and sea kindly hull form.

What is more, the 16m tug for John Mcloughlin and Son undergone outfitting stages having been turned and the wheelhouse/ bulwarks fitted. John Mcloughlin and Son specializes in modern ship’s tonnage and is involved with many different aspects of shipping business, including mooring services, marine plant hire, towage services, salvage, pilotage and shore riggers. The tug features bollard pull length of 14.65m, followed by moulded breath of 6.20m and moulded depth of 2.90m.

Macduff and Boustead Heavy Industries in Malaysia signed a two year extension to their collaboration agreement. Since 2011 the two companies have been working together on various projects including the design and building of two 16m Macduff tugs, the training of junior Boustead Naval Architects in Macduff’s office and the development of a range of OSVs for the Asian market.
