Maersk Drilling welcomes new Head of HR

Maersk Drilling has announced new Head of Human Resources to take over from Jesper B. Madsen, as of November 1, 2015.

Namely, Lene Reitzel will return to Maersk Drilling after two years in Maersk Tankers, to replace Madsen, the company said on Tuesday.

Madsen will take over the leadership of Maersk Oil’s HR department.

Claus V. Hemmingsen, CEO in Maersk Drilling and member of the Executive Board in the Maersk Group said: “I am pleased to welcome Lene Reitzel back in Maersk Drilling. Lene is not only a well-known face in the organisation, but she also comes with vast experience within the HR field. Last but not least, her in-depth knowledge about Maersk Drilling and the offshore drilling industry from previously working with us for 11 years will make sure, she hits the ground running.”

Jesper has been instrumental in the success and growth Maersk Drilling has seen during his tenure as Head of HR both in regards to developing a modern HR department, realising our enormous and successful recruitment plan and latest in setting the organisation up for a completely new oil reality. I wish to thank Jesper profoundly for his tremendous contribution to Maersk Drilling.”

Madsen has been with Maersk Drilling since 2009. Before that, he worked in various fields of HR in the Maersk Group. He has been with the Maersk Group since 2001.

Since 2013, Lene Reitzel has been the Head of HR for Maersk Tankers and a member of the Maersk Tankers Executive Leadership Team. Before that, she spent 11 years with Maersk Drilling latest as the Head of Organisational Development and Compensation & Benefits. She started her career in the Maersk Group in 1989 as a Shipping Trainee.

The company added that Reitzel would report directly to CEO Claus V. Hemmingsen and become a member of the Senior Management Team in Maersk Drilling.
