Maersk Line Drops Oslo Calls in 2015

World’s largest container carrier Maersk Line has decided to redirect all calls from Norway’s Port of Oslo to the Port of Drammen as of April 1, due to disruptions and delays for cargo to and from the country’s capital.

The reasons behind this change is that the Port of Oslo is experiencing additional pressure due to the merger of two terminals which is causing a decrease in productivity, says Maersk.

The company sees Drammen as a particular good replacement as it is located only 30 minutes away from Oslo.

Maersk expects the new route to be active throughout 2015.
