Magseis Starts Barents Job

Norwegian ocean bottom seismic player, Magseis, has kicked off a multi-client program in the Barents Sea, following the completion of work for Chevron in the UK sector of the North Sea.

The company’s vessel Artemis Athene will be used to execute the survey, building on previous work conducted in the Barents Sea for Statoil and Lundin Petroleum.

The Oslo-listed Magseis, which started operations in October 2013, has already completed 8 OBS projects.

According to the company, the program is expected to last approximately 2-3 months, depending on weather.

The industry supported Barents multi-client data project will be acquired using the company’s Marine Autonomous Seismic System (MASS).
