Marine Subsea UK Praised After Successful Job for Repsol in Spain

MARINE Subsea (UK) was praised yesterday after completing a £656,000 contract for operator Repsol at the Casablanca platform, offshore Spain.

The firm used its multipurpose offshore intervention vessel Sarah to prepare subsea equipment for installation work scheduled for next year and to modify trawl-protection structures at two well sites. Marine Subsea managing director Alasdair Cowie said: “We are delighted that Repsol chose to use our vessel, Sarah, which we brought over from west Africa, for this important piece of work.

“She is designed and equipped with the latest technology and can offer subsea well-intervention operations faster and more economically than traditional exploration semisubmersibles.”

Repsol project manager Roy Robinson said: “We are extremely impressed with the efficient and safe operation that Marine Subsea delivered for us off the coast of Spain. It is helping us get prepared for new installation work that is planned for 2011.”

Marine Subsea has its headquarters in Oslo, with operations in Aberdeen, Angola, Nigeria and Cyprus.
