The three year deal will see Mintra deliver practical, e-learning and classroom training for over 200 industry-critical courses to the operator’s onshore and offshore workforce across the UK Continental Shelf.

Managing director Peter Conner said: “We deliver over 500,000 industry courses for up to 300 oil and gas companies every year. Being chosen to partner with the UK’s largest independent oil producer is testament to our reputation as an innovative learning provider to the global oil and gas industry.

“By providing the single source point for training selection, procurement and implementation, we are able to identify gaps then access, develop, deliver, administer and manage training for all personnel across a company, bringing significant gains in terms of cost effectiveness and competency.”

Mintra recently announced that it has doubled its employee numbers in the last 12 months following a sustained period of investment and secured oil and gas sector contracts to the value of £12 million.

With over 70 specialists employed across Aberdeen, Oslo and Stavanger, Mintra is a joint venture between Norwegian firm Mintra A.S. and entrepreneurial investment company Enerco Venture.

Mintra’s north-east facility, the first full blended learning centre in the region, has seen more than 5,000 oil and gas workers pass through its doors since it opened in February.

“This series of contact wins we have secured in recent months has ensured that our growth has been both rapid and sustained in line with our ambitions,” added Conner.

“Having 5,000 people train at our centre within its first 10 months is a great vote of confidence from the industry in our facilities and in our ability to deliver world-class competency-led training for the oil and gas workforce.”
