MMO Appoints Gardline to Provide Marine Scientific Advice

The framework agreement allows for high quality research and technical advice to be efficiently commissioned in priority areas relevant to the MMO’s and other government partners’ marine management decision making. Eight lots covering technical advice and research on specific topics have been included.

The MMO commented “This is an important development in procuring high quality science, evidence and technical advice to support the decision making in MMO operational functions, which needs to be based on the best available evidence. The framework is a mechanism to ensure value for money for our evidence commissions until 2016“.

MPC’s Liam McAleese commented “We are delighted to have been appointed on the MMO’s framework agreement for Marine Scientific Advice. The fact that we are on 5 lots covering marine and coastal ecology and biodiversity, marine chemistry, bio-geochemistry and ecotoxicology, social science and economics, marine fisheries and ecosystem services, demonstrates the strength and breadth of scientific expertise within MPC and across the Gardline Group“.

MPC has already delivered a range of commissions for the MMO including evidence to inform marine planning and reviewing marine licensing and EIA related studies.
