Monaco Oceanography Institute Utilizes ECA Group’s ROV

ECA Group has delivered a fully equipped H800-1000 remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to Monaco Oceanography Institute, for coral reef sampling and analysis.

Oceanography scientists check the status of the deep coral reefs by collecting samples of coral and surrounding water, for further analysis.

What can be performed by divers in very shallow waters has to be done by dedicated ROVs for deep waters.

The Monaco Oceanography Institute has launched a 3-year campaign around the world to run this coral collection.

The delivery and commissioning of the ROV took place earlier this yaer, together with the training for the future operators.

This H800 ROV specifically developed to operate at 1000 meters depth, is equipped, with a sonar, an acoustic positioning system with 3 transponders, a 5 function electric manipulator arm, and a motorized 6 compartments special receiver, able to store the coral sample and its surrounding water.
