MP Ken Clark Visits Bowtech Products

Ken Clark MP visited Bowtech Products Ltd, a global market leader in subsea vision systems, on Tuesday 17 September 2013. On his first visit to Scotland as the Prime Minister’s international trade envoy the MP was given a tour of Bowtech’s machining and subsea moulding facility followed by a tour of the electronics workshops and a demonstration of the subsea vision equipment manufactured there, he then took the opportunity to speak to the press.

The purpose of the one day visit to Aberdeen was to meet with energy companies to talk about how they can capitalise on a potential £12bn partnership with Brazilian oil and gas companies. Clarke believes Scottish expertise is badly needed in Brazil and is encouraging companies to seize this fantastic opportunity in one of the world’s biggest emerging markets. The minister heads up a UK Trade and Investment campaign designed to help the UK oil and gas industry take advantage of openings in the booming Brazilian energy market presented by Petrobras, Brazil’s state owned oil giant.

Stephen Bowring, Managing Director of Bowtech Products and his team, were delighted to host a ministerial visit of Ken Clarke MP in support of their achievements in exporting their UK Designed and Manufactured Underwater Cameras, Lamps and Subsea Vision Systems to the Brazilian and other International markets. This success has been achieved over a number of years with the help and support from the United Kingdom Trade and Industry department whom have provided Introductions, Visits and Meetings to key “In Country” Customers and Operators within the Oil and Gas Industry and other markets.

Bowtech Products export success was rewarded in 2012 having received the Subsea UK Global Export Award.
