MPL Orders Subsea IMR Vessel from Havyard

Marine Platforms Limited (MPL), a Nigerian company offering various services to oil and gas companies in West Africa, has ordered a subsea Inspection, Maintenance and Repair Vessel from Norway’s Havyard.

The vessel, of Havyard 857 design, is scheduled for delivery in August 2014. The contract value is approximately NOK 600 million (USD 103 Mln).

This is the second vessel of Havyard 857 design that will be built at Havyard Group’s shipyard in Norway. In February last year, Norwegian shipping company Forland Shipping ordered the vessel of the same type from Havyard.

The 113 m long vessel, which will be able to accommodate a crew of 120 persons, will be outfitted at Havyard Group’s shipyard in Leirvik Norway.
