Norway: Forland Shipping Orders Subsea Vessel from Havyard

The Herøy-based company, Havyard Group AS has signed a contract with the Norwegian shipping company Forland Shipping  for the construction of a subsea vessel.

Arne Magnus Johnsen, CEO of Forland Shipping, the company that owns and operates three vessels within offshore and seismic operations, is very pleased with the choice in both design and shipyard:

– With a specially designed Havyard design, Forland Shipping continues to develop within the beliefs and values of our company`s founder, the late Ellen Forland. The ship will among other things be playing a leading role in their niche regarding comfort and quality for the people who will be working onboard the vessel. Forland Shipping has great belief in Havyard`s 857 design, combining long traditions of shipbuilding and design with the characteristics future charterers will put emphasis on, says the CEO of Forland Shipping.

The subsea vessel is going to be constructed at Havyard Ship Technology AS in Leirvik, Norway. CEO in Havyard Group AS, Geir Johan Bakke, is delighted with this new contract.

-Havyard Group is very satisfied reaching agreement with Forland Shipping AS about this contract. This will be Havyard`s first contract with this shipping company, and we hope that it is just the start of a long and fruitful relationship. We have already established a good cooperation seen through the product we are presenting today, and it reflects good, solid competence on both sides of the table, says Bakke.

The Havyard 857 design vessel is due to be delivered at the end of August 2013.
