MSC Sets Up Direct Service Between Mexico, Canada

Switzerland-headquartered Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has upgraded its Intra-America Network by adding a direct service between Mexico and Canada on both east and west coasts. 

The company has added Altamira and Veracruz on the east coast, connecting to Montreal and Saint John via the Canada Gulf Bridge service (EastCan Express).

The Canada Gulf service includes ports of Altamira, Veracruz (Mexico), Freeport, Philadelphia (US) and Montreal (Canada) (northbound) and Montreal, Saint John (Canada), Freeport, Houston (US), Altamira and Veracruz (southbound).

In addition, Manzanillo is now a direct inbound port on the California Express service. The new direct weekly service will connect Manzanillo with main west coast ports – Long Beach, Oakland and Vancouver.

The port rotation of the California Express service is as follows:

Gioia Tauro, Civitavecchia, La Spezia (Italy), Valenzia (Spain), Sines (Portugal), Cristobal, Balboa (Panama), Manzanillo (Mexico), Long Beach, Oakland, Seattle (US) and Vancouver (Canada).

MSC has upgraded its services due to increasing exports of manufactured goods in Mexico.
