NCS Survey Wins Rig Positioning Contract from Statoil

NCS Survey AS has been awarded a three-year contract with two one-year options with Norwegian operator Statoil for the supply of rig positioning services on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The contract commenced on the first of the year.

NCS Survey AS was established in November 2012 and is based in sister Acteon company IOS InterMoor’s facility in Dusavik (Stavanger) where an electronics workshop has been established to support survey and positioning operations. NCS Survey AS will support subsea construction; seabed mapping and visualisation; autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) activities; and rig positioning services. The company benefits heavily from immediate access to Acteon’s existing Norway facilities in Mongstad, Kristiansund and Hammerfest.

“The award of this contract is a great start for NCS Survey AS in Norway. NCS Survey is a recognised provider of rig positioning services in the North Sea,” said NCS Survey AS general manager Dave Roberts. “We are very pleased that Statoil has placed confidence in us as we establish ourselves locally in the area. We will be aiming to expand steadily and to provide the best possible survey and positioning services to Statoil and our other Scandinavian clients.”
