NEPCO’s LNG tender attracts interest

Jordan’s National Electric Power Company has reportedly received more than 16 offers for a mid-term LNG supply tender it issued on July 23.

The offers will be opened at 2 pm Jordan time Tuesday, with an award announced by September 30, according to a report by Platts.

The tender, which closed on September 2, sought 19 DES cargoes per annum over a period of four years, starting 2016.

Participants in the tender were also allowed to offer LNG cargoes for only part of the period, according to the report.

Jordan has in May this year started importing the chilled gas via the Golar Eskimo FSRU, which is being used as a regasification facility in Aqaba.
