Michael O’Donnell brings with him a breadth of experience in business development, strategy, sales and business turnaround across the energy sector.

He has over 12 years’ experience, previously working with UK companies such as Sparrows Group, BBRG and ROVOP where, based in the UAE, he led their entry into the region.

Based in Aberdeen, Michael will be responsible for HPR ROV’s global business development strategies, with the aim of growing the company’s presence in the energy sector.

Michael said, “I am truly excited to be joining HPR ROV, a business which has a solid customer base and can add true value to our customers operations.

“Whilst it is an uncertain market for many of us at the moment, things will improve, and with that will bring further focus on cost effective solutions within the segments we operate.

“We have an extensive track record in providing support to clients across the lifecycle of oil and gas operations.

“We have worked closely with major operators in the development of special cutting tools deployed via small ROV’s, which assist with operations during the producing life and decommisioning of the asset.

“These innovative solutions alleviate the traditional use of divers or larger ROV’s, and underscores the cost benefit smaller ROV’s provide, we have had similar successes in offshore wind.

“We will be aiming to increase our geographical reach and will look to enter our services across the Middle East and GOM.

“But at the same time, there is a tremendous opportunity to grow the business here in the UK by harvesting the ingenuity and nimbleness our business offers and developing it further across the energy sector.”

Owner of HPR ROV, Iain Petrie added, “We are very pleased to be able to welcome Michael to the team and I am looking forward to working with him. He has an excellent track record and I can’t wait to see what new opportunities he can help bring to HPR ROV.

“I am certain that Michael will be instrumental in the growth of HPR ROV, and even in these uncertain times, I am excited to see what the future holds for the company.”
