Noble Group rebuilding LNG trading desk

Commodity trading house, Noble Group, has reportedly appointed former Total SA LNG trader Idoia Monje Norte to its liquefied natural gas desk in London.

Bloomberg reports Monje Norte will join Noble during the summer as LNG business head and is the second trader to join the company following this week’s naming of a former Glencore executive, Lou Montilla.

Montilla has been appointed with the aim of focusing on LNG business development.

The two are part of Noble Group’s rebuilding of the trading desk that was cut to only five members in February.

In February Noble Group lost three traders to the Swiss-based Glencore two of which, Alejandro Sanchez Gestido and Gabriel Gonzalez Laguna, have been co-heads of the team.
