Norton Rose Fulbright moves LNG specialist to Singapore

Norton Rose Fulbright law firm informed on Friday the LNG specialist Ben Smith will relocate to Singapore on May 1, from the Hong Kong office. 

Smith focuses on the development of LNG projects and the long-term sale and purchase of LNG, and also advises on all types of upstream developments, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures, the law firm said in a statement.

Commenting on the relocation, Smith said, “Over the last few years, Singapore has established itself as the regional hub for LNG in Asia.” 

He also added that the LNG industry in the region is increasing its interest in developing floating solutions.

Simon Currie, global head of energy, Norton Rose Fulbright added that the energy markets of the Asia-Pacific region are of critical importance to the global economy, with Singapore playing a role of a trading hub.

During the last 18 months, the company expanded its Singapore team placing more focus on the LNG market.
