Norway: Bergen Group to Dismantle Deck Cranes at Gullfaks Platforms

Bergen Group Offshore has, through its subsidiary Bergen Group Rosenberg AS, been awarded an EPCIc-contract by Statoil with an estimated value of approximately 30 MNOK.

The EPCIc-contract (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning) includes dismantling of permanent deck cranes on the Gullfaks A and C Platform.

Work will commence from Bergen Group Rosenberg’s offices at Buøy, Stavanger immediately, and the project will be executed in 2 phases: Gullfaks A prior to June 2012 and Gullfaks C Prior to December 2013.

“This project represents an interesting niche in the EPCIc brownfield modification market and is a valuable contribution to the utilization of our capability and efficiency in this segment. We consider projects like the Gullfaks Crane project with  interest and to be within an area with potential for further development”, says Executive Vice President Kristin Færøvik in the Bergen Group Offshore Division.
