Norway: Extreme Weather Forces Statoil to Cut Production

Statoil, a Norway based  oil & gas exploration and production giant, has started with production reductions at some of its Norwegian sea facilities due to extreme weather conditions.

Statoil’s spokesperson Ola Anders Skauby told Reuters that the measures taken were precautionary and that the company expects production to get to normal levels soon.

Mr. Skauby yesterday said that storms, such as the one hitting Norway’s coast, are not unusual at this time of year.
