New Purpose Built IMR Vessel for DeepOcean

DeepOcean AS, a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group, has been awarded the single largest contract in the history of the company since it was founded in 1999. The contract includes delivery of a purpose built vessel for subsea IMR services as well as onshore project management and engineering services.

DeepOcean will provide a vessel of MT6022 design under this contract. The MT6022 design, tailored for IMR operations, will have a length of 108m and a width of 22m, with accommodation for a total of 100 persons. The ship will be equipped with a 150t offshore crane that can work down to 3000m ocean depth, arranged with 2 of Work ROV (unmanned submarines) and 1 Observation ROV.

The vessel, prepared for work in Arctic environments, will be delivered by REM Maritime in the first quarter of 2014 and built at Kleven shipyard, Norway.
