Ocean Installer Expands in Scotland, UK

The Norwegian subsea entrepreneur Ocean Installer has opened a UK office in Aberdeen, Scotland. The new office will become a full-blown regional branch of Ocean Installer.

“Less than one and a half year after Ocean Installer was established, they are at a place where the only natural development is to open a second office. This is in line with their long-term growth strategy and illustrates that they are progressing at a very good pace”, says Steinar Riise, CEO of Ocean Installer.

The office, originally named “Innovation House” and now renamed “Ocean Installer House”, is situated within the Aberdeen Energy and Innovation Parks, a science and energy cluster which already houses significant actors in the oil- and gas industry. The lease is for 10 years with a 5 year exit option.

Ocean Installer aims at recruiting 20-30 people to the Aberdeen office in 2012 and estimates that about 100 people will be employed with this UK division of the company by the end of 2013. The Aberdeen office will be a full-blown regional branch of Ocean Installer, offering full coverage of all services that the subsea entrepreneur provides. Moreover, whilst Ocean Installer’s corporate headquarters remain in Stavanger, Norway, financial operations will be concentrated in the Aberdeen office. Martin Sisley is the Managing Director of Ocean Installer in the UK.

“This regional anchoring will allow us to work even closer with our clients operating out of the UK. On a personal level, I am excited to play such a key role in the expansion of Ocean Installer and the consolidation of the company’s UK presence”, says Sisley.
