Attendees will listen to subject matter experts discuss specific aspects of the company’s plans to build the 1,100 MW offshore wind farm.

The open houses will be held on 20 October at 1 p.m., 21 October at 6 p.m. and 24 October at 10 a.m.

“While we always prefer to interact with interested members of the public face-to-face, we understand that is not practical at this time,” said Kris Ohleth, senior stakeholder relations manager for Ørsted.

“New Jersey is poised to be a key player in the development of the American offshore wind industry and we hope individuals who are interested in learning more about Ocean Wind will take the time to register, listen and participate in the virtual sessions.”

Ocean Wind will be located 15 miles off the coast of southern New Jersey. Construction is expected to commence in the early 2020s, with the wind farm operational by the end of 2024.

Ørsted also announced it had appointed Patricia DiOrio as new head of project development in North America.

DiOrio will be based in Boston and, as a member of the Ørsted U.S. Offshore Wind leadership, will lead the company’s North American Offshore Project Development team, including all strategic and growth efforts in pre-asset project development and bid submissions.
