Pakistan gets spot LNG cargo from Gunvor

Pakistan received on Wednesday a spot cargo of liquefied natural gas at the country’s LNG import terminal in Port Qasim.

The cargo was supplied by trading giant Gunvor, Engro Elengy, the operator of Pakistan’s first LNG  import terminal said.

The 159,800 cbm Maran Gas Troy is currently docked at Excelerate Energy’s FSRU Exquisite in Port Qasim, port data shows.

Energy-hungry Pakistan recently imported its first cargo of chilled gas under the multi-billion deal with Qatar.

The country will each month import four LNG cargoes, three from Qatargas and one spot cargo from Gunvor.

The Maran Gas Troy brought the 22nd cargo of liquefied natural gas since Pakistan began importing LNG in March 2015 in order to replace conventional fuels to fire its power stations.
