Passenger Ferry Victoria I Returns to Service

Turku Repair Yard, a subsidiary of BLRT Grupp, has successfully completed the scheduled maintenance of Tallink’s passenger ferry Victoria I.

Victoria I underwent dock repairs in order to align the vessel’s mechanisms and parts with the requirements of classification society Bureau Veritas. The maintenance of the ferry was carried out within six days at Turku Repair Yard’s dry dock.

The works included: repairs of steering gear, propellers and Cedervall propulsion shaft seals. Underwater hull was cleaned and coated. Also, the vessel’s bow visor, stern ramp and sea valves were repaired.

We are proud that our experience gives Tallink Grupp the confidence to place repair works with us,” said Vesa Marttinen, the Managing Director of Turku Repair Yard.

All works were completed on time. “We have been working with Turku Repair Yard for several years, and we are content with their combined ability to meet the deadlines and provide good work quality,” said Pavel Kondrashov, the senior technical superintendent of Tallink Grupp.

Turku Repair Yard, located in Naantali, Finland, operates one of the biggest dry docks (265m x 70m x 7,9m) in the Baltic Sea region. The yard works as part of BLRT Grupp, one of the biggest industrial holdings in the Baltic States.
