Continuing the work of Pelamis Wave Power on wave farm project development in parallel with technology demonstration and development, two wave measurement buoys have now been redeployed off the north coast of Scotland, at the location of the Farr Point wave farm site.

The wave buoys, which were first deployed in December 2013, had been removed from site for a few weeks over the summer to allow for battery replacement and maintenance. They were returned to site this week by a Pelamis crew in conjunction with the Environmental Research Institute based in Thurso.

At the same time, an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) was deployed at the site, which will provide an understanding of currents in the area.
