Petrofac names new chief information officer to drive digital transformation

Oilfield services provider Petrofac has appointed a new chief information officer (CIO) to the company’s management team.

Petrofac said on Monday that it appointed Allan Cockriel as the company’s new chief information officer to drive the company’s continued digital transformation.

Cockriel joined Petrofac from GE, where he was the CIO responsible for IT and service delivery for the combined GE Power/Alstom Global Parts Fulfilment IT organization, as well as its global sales and operational planning function.

Petrofac added that, during his 14-year tenure with GE, he worked in areas of international IT leadership, global restructuring and business transformation, senior operations management, emerging markets’ growth and JVs, and IT finance across several multi-billion dollar businesses.

Regarding the appointment, Cockriel said: “Petrofac is working to create a forward-looking digital culture, which is vital to maintaining a competitive edge in today’s industrial landscape, and I am delighted to be part of the team that will pioneer this.
