Petronas awards wellhead platforms contract to KKB

Malaysia’s KKB Engineering has been awarded a contract by its compatriot Petronas Carigali for an engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning work offshore Malaysia. 

KKB Engineering informed last Friday that the awarded contract was for the provision of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of wellhead platforms for D18 Phase 2 Project and D28 Phase 1 Project off Malaysia. The value of the contract has not been revealed.

It was awarded on March 14 to KKB’s subsidiary company, OceanMight Sdn Bhd.

The contract duration is 21 months, in which nine months are for the work execution for D28 Phase 1 Project while another 12 months are the warranty period. The contract already started in March.

The scope for D28 Phase 1 Project will be engineering, procurement, construction, transportation, installation and commissioning.

OceanMight operates in a fabrication yard measuring approx. 70 acres complete with 9 acres of covered fabrication workshops which are equipped with automated fabrication production line facilities.
