PGS started acquisition of a 3D GeoStreamer survey over frontier acreage within the Trøndelag Platform and Helgeland Basin in June 2019.

The acquisition phase is now complete for two PGS 3D GeoStreamer surveys totaling 10 500 sq. km over frontier acreage on the Trøndelag platform, including the Helgeland and Froan basins, PGS said on Friday.

First data is expected before the end of the year, with final PSDM due in July 2020, the company added.

Two full broadband 3D GeoStreamer acquisitions were carried out by Sanco Swift and Ramform Vanguard vessels this summer, using a high-density triple-source design. They targeted a large and underexplored area close to existing infrastructure.

According to PGS, data results from Trøndelag platform and East Draugen will provide an excellent basis for exploration decisions. These surveys further expand PGS’ GeoStreamer PURE coverage of the Norwegian Sea.

Fast track data is expected by December 2019. PSDM and velocity model building with Complete Wavefield Imaging of the GeoStreamer data are due July 2020.
