Port of Los Angeles Keeping Up with Last Year's Figures

The overall volumes at the Port of Los Angeles for containerized cargo increased 0.25 percent in July 2014 compared to July last year, the port’s monthly results show.


Total cargo for July was 717,407 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs).

Container imports dropped 1.98 percent, while exports rose 3.62 percent comparing July figures for 2013 and 2014.

Combined, total loaded imports and exports decreased 0.31 percent, from 528,331.05 TEUs in July 2013 to 526,688.00 TEUs in July 2014.

Factoring in empties, which increased 1.82 percent year over year, overall July 2014 volumes rose 0.25 percent compared to July 2013.

For the first seven months of calendar year 2014, overall volumes have increased 7.75 percent compared to the same period in 2013.

July is the first month of the Port’s 2014-2015 fiscal year.
