Princess Cruises to Revamp Caribbean Princess

Californian cruise line Princess Cruises, a part of Carnival Corporation, has unveiled a multi-million dollar plan to renovate its 2004-built cruise ship Caribbean Princess.

The company said that the 251-meter-long vessel will undergo an extensive two-week drydock in Freeport, Bahamas, starting from March 26. The renovation works are scheduled to be finalized on April 6.

With 112,894 gross tons, Caribbean Princess “will emerge from a multi-million-dollar renovation with new offerings appealing to families,” just in time for the upcoming Europe summer and fall Caribbean seasons.

Following the upgrades, the newly renovated cruise ship will start its Europe season with a Transatlantic sailing on April 6, continuing throughout the summer in the British Isles.

It will then sail to the Panama Canal in October, transiting the new Agua Clara locks, to spend the holiday season in the Caribbean.
